Artist of the Day…Audrey Kawasaki

Today’s artist is LA born Audrey Kawasaki. Kawasaki’s work has been described as a fusion of Art Nouveau and Japanese Manga and many of her works feature themes with erotic undertones. Kawasaki’s medium of choice is oil paintings painted on wood panels which gives an organic feel to her work.

Audrey Kawasaki is the artist of the day because her work is so ethereal and beautiful to me. It has just the right touch of sexuality, which I think makes them raw and real, yet natural. I also love the idea of painting on wood which give her paintings an ancient woodblock look and feel. Lovely!

You can check out Audrey’s blog where she posts ofetn about upcoming shows and new artwork.
