Astounding Papercrafts by Peter Callesen

Halfway Through

Check out these amazing paper sculptures by Peter Callesen. They are all made out one sheet of paper. Yes. ONE. This is amazing because he basically creates 3-D figures and shapes out of acid-free paper and glue. There are many themes that factor into his work including religion and the organic.

Callesen says he uses A4 white paper (your standard computer paper) because the fact that it is so common and the most consumed, allows his work to expose the actual materiality of the paper. He also says this type of paper is a good medium for conveying the frail and romantic notions in his works. I’m just in awe at the complex, but almost ethereal nature of Peter Callesen’s paper sculptures.
