Celebrating Black Designers…Stephen Burrows

The talent in Fashion is rare these days…especially amongst people of color, but as the times have shifted and changed, one awesome designer has remained constant – Stephen Burrows. Burrows has been on the fashion scene since the 1970’s and has a very colorful and extensive hand in the history of fashion. He’s worked with Henri Bendel and dressed such greats as Diana Ross, Lauren Hutton, and Barbara Streisand. Burrows is known for his impeccable knowledge of the female form, in which is accented and flattered in his signature jersey dresses.

Burrows has also won the COTY award 3 times and the CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award. The photos above are from Burrow’s Fall 2010 collection, but please check out the link above to see more beautiful designs this fashion icon has created.
