Artist of the Day…Fay Ku

Today’s artist is really intriguing to me, Fay Ku. I’m intrigued because her drawings are somewhat haunting to me, but yet still really eye catching. It appears that she makes her own paper and combines that with graphite and watercolors to create these interesting images that pay a great deal of attention to facets of Asian culture.

Ku is a graduate of the Pratt Institute and has showed in many exhibitions over the course of her career. I believe she currently resides in Hawaii where she makes her amazing art collections of drawings and installation work.

I do love these kinds of works because they require more than just a passing glance, especially since Ku’s work looks so delicate but contains many striking subject matters…so, great!
