[Lessons In Lace]…Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture

I wanted to showcase this Fall 2010 Couture collection by Givenchy because while I’m not thrilled over the flesh tones and over use of hair in these looks, I do LOVE the lace and lattice detailing that is going on. Lace has always been of great interest to me because it conveys such a classic sexy in any garment. Plus it’s a challenge to work with, so to use it to create such intricate designs is really cool to me. These dresses would be absolutely horrendous to me if they did not have the lace work, so I’m glad it’s there. Plus, I will admit that I like the slight homage to gowns of the early 1900’s. To me, they have a distinct Edwardian silhouette to them…which makes them look vintage.
