[Art Deco In the Sun]…Photography by Yours Truly.

Well I am back from my lovely, relaxing, fun, crazy vacation (to be honest I’ve been back for awhile) and since I’ve needed to catch up on my rest, I’ve left Sparkleshock alone for a little while. Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from the blogging grind. Anyway, I wanted to share with you all the photos I took while I was in Miami most specifically the ones from down on Miami Beach.

The art deco architecture on Miami Beach is well known, but nothing quite compares to seeing for yourself. Art Deco has always been one of my favorite art styles because I love the combination of color and high style elements the art form has. I love the homages to fashion, modernism, cubism, and futurism the Art Deco style has, so to see building after building of this was complete heaven to me…

Next time I go back, I plan on staying in one of these hotels. I just imagine glamorous celebs from the 40’s and 50’s staying in artsy rooms and going to glamorous parties, haha. I have some more photos from the Art Deco District on my flickr, so please do check them out if you’d like!
