Artist of the Day…Owen Gildersleeve

I’ve got a great artist to share with you guys today, Owen Gildersleeve. I’m drawn to his work because he is an amazing papercrafter, so to see the cuts, folds, and designs he can make with paper is really interesting to me. Many of Gildersleeve’s works are completely handmade…that means if he decides to do a mosaic image of over 2,000 paper squares, then you can bet he does just that!

Gildersleeve is based in London and has been commissioned to do advertisement work for many agencies and editorial work for many magazines (New Scientist, Fast Company). He also does a lot of logo designs for bands and such.

This guy is a Jack of All Trades – he does music as well AND is a part of an artist’s collective. I totally love his fresh and fun take on 2D design…be sure to check out his blog as well for some inspiration boosts!
