Loving…EM by Miri

I swear Etsy was put her on this planet to deliberately keep me from saving money. I come across several shops every week that make me wish I was a millionaire so I could spend, spend, spend! There is a little shoppe on there for every little niche…

Case in point? EM by Miri which has a multitude of lovely goodies for cat lovers!

CUTE!!! I love that embroidered piece above…it’s so sassy! Be sure to check out EM by Miri is you wouldn’t mind some kitty goodies in your life!

Gotta Have It…Gorgeous Wood iPhone Cases by Signimade

It’s been a very long time since I’ve done a Gotta Have It post. I’ve missed this little feature, so I think it’s time to bring it back, yes?

These really tickle my fancy! I’ve been really into wood accents a lot lately, so coming across these by Signimade just may make me break my “no case” rule. It would also be the one excuse I’d need to upgrade to an iPhone 4!

Got another awesome accessory label to share with you guys, this time by way of Australia! Polli has these amazing laser cut necklaces, earrings, brooches, and more that depict everything from a street in Amsterdam to a bright bouquet of flowers. Check these out…

I’m loving these pieces of jewelry! Polli also has a collection of housewares that has some really neat jewelry stands that mimic the style of the jewelry lines. On top of that, Polli’s manufacturing process is environmentally conscious. Each piece is made using recycled material and a portion of the proceeds of certain collections are donated to the World Wildlife Fund. Again, a label that offers great design AND an environmentally healthy product is always a star in my book!

Loving…”Forget Me Not” Scarves

I think I’ve stated before that one of my favorite parts of dressing is accessorizing. That’s why it’s always fun to come across neat scarves like these by Coco of Forget Me Not. These digitally printed scarves are very unique and showcase some awesome imagery…

These are just…stunning. They’re available online & at various high-end retailers around the world. Man…I love these!

Loving…Mini Clutches by The Dainty Squid

One of my favorite craft blogs to read is The Dainty Squid because the crafty lady that writes it, Kaylah, always seems to come across the most adorable things. From neat thrifted objects to colorful cotton fabrics, there’s always something on The Dainty Squid that catches my eye…especially these handy mini clutches that are made using really neat fabrics…

Now, I have a pattern to make something like this myself…but I do not have the neat fabrics, so I’m itching to possibly buy one of these. They’re perfect for stashing your cards and your phone and are really unique. Be sure to check out some more cute clutches over at Kaylah’s Etsy site…there’s something for everyone!

Loving…Hansel From Basel

I haven’t always been into tights and socks. Even after spending about 6 years in Minnesota, it took me some time to warm up to the idea of encasing my legs in fabric (I kept picturing sausages), but for the past year, I am certainly singing a different tune. I love tights now! And I’m slowly getting into socks…especially if they’re like the ones offered by Hansel From Basel

Actually, now that I think about it…I really do love knee-high’s as well. That pair above with the bow are really tugging at my purse strings. Thank goodness I now know that there’s tight weather in Los Angeles…I can still enjoy rocking them!

I want every single one of these bangles right here…

Of course I would be drawn to these because they’re super colorful and I love the Ikat and tribal print patterns. Plus, all the goods in the shop are made by refugee/displaced women which provides them extra income AND a creative outlet. You can find these and more (including some amazing scarves!) at CLOTHshop.

Loving…Accessories by A Alicia

I’ve always wanted to learn how to crochet. In fact, knitting and crocheting are the only “crafty” thing that I just cannot seem to grasp. So I’ve been forced into ooh-ing & aah-ing over the talents of others who do have a way with the yarn. I’m always delighted when I come across accessories or garments that are knitted/crocheted into perfection, so you can imagine how happy I was to come across the accessories of London based designer A Alicia.

While this collection of jewelry is a bit more low key than my normal jewelry tastes, I am really digging the knotting and rope elements of the necklaces. I also like that they look amazingly soft and are perfect for just jazzing up a simple tee or tank. Love!

Designer of the Day…Dana Ayanna Greaves

I’m really excited about today’s designer – Dana Ayanna Graves of Artaya. This D.C. based designer is a jackie of all trades if you will – she illustrates, costume, and designs jewelry and apparel. I’m featuring her fashions because I love how colorful her looks are and I love that she infuses her designs with such multiethnic flair.

Artistic Aya (as she’s called) has apprenticed under the Shakespeare Theater costume crafts department (which is amazing I bet…) and has had her garments worn by Erykah Badu. She combines her love for the visual arts and music to create the things she does. This month she will be opening her first pop up shop which will showcase her chic jewelry pieces and garments.

I do love when Black creatives (especially women) get the recognition they deserve. It makes me super proud to be amongst them!

Loving…Melody Ehsani

I know it’s Fall and most of you are starting to break out the sweaters and tights, but I wanted to share some images from Melody Ehsani’s Summer 2010 lookbook. These were floating around the blogosphere for awhile, but the images are uber vibrant and the ladies modeling are gorgeous, so I’m sharing them now! Plus I love the mirror world necklace shown below…

Melody Ehsani’s accessories are BAD-ASS. I love how bold each of the pieces are. I also love her philosophy behind why she designs –

My style is inspired by paradox, controversy, justice and pushing the envelope in showing that you truly can’t judge a book by its cover. I design to upset the equilibrium. I design to inspire. I design to serve. I design because I was created to do so.”

Amen sister, Amen.
